Memorial Weekend

Aw, yeah. Memorial day weekend is coming up. No school on Monday. That's a whole extra day to do things! And what do I plan on doing you might wonder? Well you'll be super fantastically jealous of my weekend plans. I'll be doing a ton of yard work. Seeing as my mother is big on gardening, and this cold weather finally coming to some what of a halt, We can finally start planting those flowers she always talks about. Oh, but the fun doesn't end there. I'll be raking leaves, mowing the lawns and helping remove grass. On top of that, I'll be cleaning the inside of our house as well. It's rather dirty at the time being; we had some workers in there putting up insulation and everything got very dusty. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get ten minutes to myself. Maybe. I'll be SUPER fun...
So.
Much.
Fun.

What is this crap?

This CRAP Is the weather, that's what. I'm so very sick of the snow, and I know I'm not the only one. Not to say that I don't like the snow, but after months and months of it, I'm finally ready for the hot weather.

So what would I be doing right now if it was nice out right now and I didn't have to be stuck in school? Well I might be outside just relaxing in the sun, or maybe finally cleaning the dust off my bike and taking it for a ride around the neighborhood. I know my friends and I have been trying to plan a day for us all to get together at my house and go swimming in my pool, so that would certainly be worked in as a plan. I also like to draw and do artwork outside. It's rather nice in comparison to being stuck inside a dark space for a long while. It doesn't matter what, but anything would be more enjoyable.

All I know is that I'm ready for summer to start. so COME on weather, don't be such a square.

How Foolish

When I was about seven, I lived on the outskirts of Bend. We were living in a rental house at the time. the neighborhood was nice, and I had one really good friend in particular. We had many foolish adventures, but one in particular is funny to think back on.

The first was on a sunny day. We were playing outdoors, and my friend Krystal spotted a large black spider under the deck. It was so pretty that we just HAD to catch it. We ran inside and gathered all the tools we would need: Some string, a stick, a jar and some plastic bags. My mother noticed and asked us what we were doing. "We're trying to catch this pretty black spider with red on it's tummy!" I said. My mom ran outside, took the black widow spider off of my arm and squished it on the ground.

While it was very scary at the time, it's still really funny to think back on. And even more ironic: I've developed a large fear of spiders since then.

National Tartan Day

Ah Tartan day. Who doesn't know about National Tartan day? Well for those of you who don't ((because I sure didn't before the start of this class)) Let me explain some things:

TARTAN DAY
Tartan day is a celebration of the Scottish heritage. It's also the day the Declaration of Arbroath was signed in 1320. The current event originated in Canada in the 1980's. It's now celebrated in any place with people who have Scottish heritage. Now it's just known as the day filled with bagpipes, highland dancing, and other Scottish themed events. It's really an international holiday.

My Dream Vacation

I think it would be really cool to go and visit England. I know it may seem cliche, but I've been to a lot of places ((including Hawaii, Costa Rica, Greece and such.)) But I've never been to some of those spots that people normally go to right away. I have family in England and a lot of friends too. I think it would be fun to go visit them over there. I don't know much about England either; I would really enjoy learning about everything over there. It may seem lame for a "DREAM" vacation, but it sounds pretty cool to me.

A bit late: Spring Break.

I went on a family trip to Hawaii over spring break. We were curious to try something different (You see we've been to Hawaii before) So instead of going to Maui, where we normally spend our vacations, we went to the smaller and more natural island of Kawaii. We were there a total of a week; we left on the Saturday spring break started, and returned the Saturday it ended. It was lots of fun.. at least is was until that Thursday.

I came down with the flu. It left me feeling pretty ill the last day we were in Hawaii, and up until yesterday when I finally returned to school. I was running a fever, had a nasty migraine, lost my voice, sore throat, you name it, I had it. But all in all my break was good. I got lots of things I needed to done, and got to spend it in the lovely state of Hawaii.

St. Patirck’s Day

I remember loving this day when I was young. I would always try to build the best leprechaun trap I could. And, of course, they would always fail. I loved going to school on St. Patrick's day. the classroom was messed up and out of order. Paint and glitter flooded the room. After checking our school made traps ((which was a class project)) we would make green eggs and ham. I remember one year I made a particularly crazy trap. It had trap doors, painted walls made of cardboard, gold chocolate coins, and goo to catch the little green guy in.It was good fun for me, but now I'm a bit old for it all. but it's fun to look back at it all now.
