Memorial Weekend

Aw, yeah. Memorial day weekend is coming up. No school on Monday. That's a whole extra day to do things! And what do I plan on doing you might wonder? Well you'll be super fantastically jealous of my weekend plans. I'll be doing a ton of yard work. Seeing as my mother is big on gardening, and this cold weather finally coming to some what of a halt, We can finally start planting those flowers she always talks about. Oh, but the fun doesn't end there. I'll be raking leaves, mowing the lawns and helping remove grass. On top of that, I'll be cleaning the inside of our house as well. It's rather dirty at the time being; we had some workers in there putting up insulation and everything got very dusty. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get ten minutes to myself. Maybe. I'll be SUPER fun...
So.
Much.
Fun.

What is this crap?

This CRAP Is the weather, that's what. I'm so very sick of the snow, and I know I'm not the only one. Not to say that I don't like the snow, but after months and months of it, I'm finally ready for the hot weather.

So what would I be doing right now if it was nice out right now and I didn't have to be stuck in school? Well I might be outside just relaxing in the sun, or maybe finally cleaning the dust off my bike and taking it for a ride around the neighborhood. I know my friends and I have been trying to plan a day for us all to get together at my house and go swimming in my pool, so that would certainly be worked in as a plan. I also like to draw and do artwork outside. It's rather nice in comparison to being stuck inside a dark space for a long while. It doesn't matter what, but anything would be more enjoyable.

All I know is that I'm ready for summer to start. so COME on weather, don't be such a square.

How Foolish

When I was about seven, I lived on the outskirts of Bend. We were living in a rental house at the time. the neighborhood was nice, and I had one really good friend in particular. We had many foolish adventures, but one in particular is funny to think back on.

The first was on a sunny day. We were playing outdoors, and my friend Krystal spotted a large black spider under the deck. It was so pretty that we just HAD to catch it. We ran inside and gathered all the tools we would need: Some string, a stick, a jar and some plastic bags. My mother noticed and asked us what we were doing. "We're trying to catch this pretty black spider with red on it's tummy!" I said. My mom ran outside, took the black widow spider off of my arm and squished it on the ground.

While it was very scary at the time, it's still really funny to think back on. And even more ironic: I've developed a large fear of spiders since then.

National Tartan Day

Ah Tartan day. Who doesn't know about National Tartan day? Well for those of you who don't ((because I sure didn't before the start of this class)) Let me explain some things:

TARTAN DAY
Tartan day is a celebration of the Scottish heritage. It's also the day the Declaration of Arbroath was signed in 1320. The current event originated in Canada in the 1980's. It's now celebrated in any place with people who have Scottish heritage. Now it's just known as the day filled with bagpipes, highland dancing, and other Scottish themed events. It's really an international holiday.

My Dream Vacation

I think it would be really cool to go and visit England. I know it may seem cliche, but I've been to a lot of places ((including Hawaii, Costa Rica, Greece and such.)) But I've never been to some of those spots that people normally go to right away. I have family in England and a lot of friends too. I think it would be fun to go visit them over there. I don't know much about England either; I would really enjoy learning about everything over there. It may seem lame for a "DREAM" vacation, but it sounds pretty cool to me.

A bit late: Spring Break.

I went on a family trip to Hawaii over spring break. We were curious to try something different (You see we've been to Hawaii before) So instead of going to Maui, where we normally spend our vacations, we went to the smaller and more natural island of Kawaii. We were there a total of a week; we left on the Saturday spring break started, and returned the Saturday it ended. It was lots of fun.. at least is was until that Thursday.

I came down with the flu. It left me feeling pretty ill the last day we were in Hawaii, and up until yesterday when I finally returned to school. I was running a fever, had a nasty migraine, lost my voice, sore throat, you name it, I had it. But all in all my break was good. I got lots of things I needed to done, and got to spend it in the lovely state of Hawaii.

St. Patirck’s Day

I remember loving this day when I was young. I would always try to build the best leprechaun trap I could. And, of course, they would always fail. I loved going to school on St. Patrick's day. the classroom was messed up and out of order. Paint and glitter flooded the room. After checking our school made traps ((which was a class project)) we would make green eggs and ham. I remember one year I made a particularly crazy trap. It had trap doors, painted walls made of cardboard, gold chocolate coins, and goo to catch the little green guy in.It was good fun for me, but now I'm a bit old for it all. but it's fun to look back at it all now.

What I COULD be doing right now.

There are a lot of things I could be doing right now, but instead I'm sitting here in my webdesign class. It would be cool if I could stay home, but since I need one more elective credits, webdesign was the way to go. If I could have my way, and free credits, I would probably at home sleeping still. It IS only 11:41 AM after-all, and who doesn't love sleeping half the day away? As a senior, I'm not going to lie, school is starting to be more and more of a drag. Senioritis? Perhaps. But more than anything, I would rather be at home doing things I truly enjoy. Not saying I don't enjoy webdesign! But I can't say I enjoy sitting at these cramped desks where I have no leg room for two hours. It kills my back, it really does.

SO what would I be doing instead you wonder? Well after a NICE night of sleeping, I would be completely lazy! It's my guilty pleasure. Doing nothing is the best thing ever. And it's a good way to get rid of stress, believe it or not. Drawing, computer, games are my normal day off. I'm a total nerd. Haters gunnuh' hate. You might also find me out with friends, doing something totally random, but amazingly fun. That would be a SICK day off.

But I don't have the day off, so I'm here typing about what I COULD be doing instead of webdesign class.

Snow Day.

Snow days are great aren't they? the answer is yes, or at least, when you know it's a snow day. I started my day as normal. I woke up at six to my very-much-hated alarm clock, and took a shower. Of course after I was dressed and walked out of my room, backpack in hand, my mom came forward to tell me school had been canceled. Great. The rest of the day was a drag. Our power cut in and out several times, and our cable simply refused to work. We also shoveled the snow off our sidewalk, only to realize an hour later that the plows had covered our work and we would have to go do it all over again. I was tired from getting up so early, and I couldn't go anywhere because my car was trapped by what was now a block of ice. But at least I had no school; that was the highlight of the day.

As far as Snow days go, it was not even close to the best one I've ever had.

My Summer.

Man, I'm not much of a blogger, but I'll give it a go.
My summer? It really wasn't all too interesting. And I don't say that to seem sad or in need of attention, it's just the truth. No big events really stick out. The only big thing that happened was our family trip to Hawaii. It was... fun, but I got super sun-burnt on the first day. ((I'm a pasty person. Darn you genetics.)) So I spend the rest of the week trying not to touch anything with my lobster colored skin. My family was also pretty stressed for whatever reason, I really don't know why, and everyone seemed to be fighting with each other. Of course it resolved itself the last day of the trip; seems normal for my family, but the trip wasn't as fun as I had hoped.

The rest of the summer was mostly house keep, time with friends, and free time with my various hobbies. All good times, but nothing you wouldn't expect from a summer~

Not really sure what else to write here. I'll leave it at that.
I need to have more interesting summers...
